Description

Designed to be eaten as a young cheese, Cornish Blue is a very different product from traditional English blue cheeses. Its flavour is mild and creamy, with a dense texture and buttery richness, instead of the ‘salty tang’ common of other traditional blue cheeses it has a gentle sweetness.

Please allow for 10% variants on the weight as all of our cheeses are hand made and cut.

Storage & Serving

Keep well wrapped in the fridge but we do recommend removing cheese from the fridge and any wrapping to allow the cheese the ‘breath’ for an hour or two before serving which will allow the full flavour and character of the cheese to come through!

Slightly disappointing this year

We’ve been buying this wonderful cheese for a few years now but the latest batch was much more crumbly. It just falls to pieces when you try to cut a slice. I’d also say the flavour seemed stronger, more like a Stilton? We’ve normally always preferred this cheese as it has a more subtle flavour.

Cornish Blue is Fabulous!

I love Cornish blue, but this Christmas, there is an added addition to my Cornishware collection: a very swish Cornish Blue cheese pot! The cheese, as it always is, was and is superb. The pot is stunning. I take mine out of the fridge about 30 minutes before eating, and it's perfect for spreading on anything. I ordered a 400g top-up, waxed cheddar, and a jar of cranberry port and orange sauce for the big day. Cornish blue has pushed all my favourite blues out of the picture. Verdict: Fantastic. Go on, you know you want some!!!
