Description

The leaves, which attract naturally occurring moulds, are brushed onto the cheese in concentric circles. As the cheese matures, the edible wrap imparts a delicate, mushroomy taste and develops its unique bloomy white appearance.

Once matured, nettled Yarg is fresh, lemony and creamy under its beautiful rind, with an irresistible crumble in the core.

Cornish Yarg made by Lynher Dairies is a nettle wrapped semi hard cheese made from grass rich Cornish milk. Tangy under its natural rind and slightly crumbly in the core, it consistently wins top international awards.

Storage & Shelf Life

Guaranteed to last up to 3 weeks when stored correctly in the fridge.

Keep well wrapped in the fridge but we do recommend removing cheese from the fridge and any wrapping to allow the cheese the ‘breath’ for an hour or two before serving which will allow the full flavour and character of the cheese to come through!

Because our cheese is handmade in small batches, we ship orders on specific days each week.

To receive your order the same week, please place it before midday on Tuesday. Orders placed after this time will be shipped the following week.

You can select your preferred delivery day at checkout, and we’ll dispatch your cheese to arrive on that date.

All of our cheese parcels are cooled with re-usable ice packs and insulated with recyclable packaging.

All orders are sent using DPD’s tracked delivery service. Once your cheese has been dispatched, DPD will send you tracking details so you can follow your delivery.

We highly recommend downloading the DPD app, which allows you to track your parcel, provide safe place instructions, nominate a neighbour to receive your delivery, or reschedule your delivery time slot.

As the dscription says this is a semi hard cheese which I found had a light flavour and paired perfectly with Elderflower Press with a slice of Lemon. Perfect for our family cheese night and indeed a winner.

Mild & creamy

Milder than I expected, a very satisfying mild and creamy flavour.
Other cheeses delicious and well presented. Will definitely order again next year .

Yarg is the best cheese! It's mild flavour and smooth texture makes it a great pairing with a variety of of other foods but it is truly delicious on its own. Pop it on a cheese board with Cornish Blue and a bottle of wine and you have all you need for a great night in!

Cheesy Smiles all round!

I have purchased from the Cornish Cheese company in the past and have never been disappointed. This year I was having a larger family gathering on Christmas evening and decided to do a cheese 'grazing' platter so ordered a little more Yarg than usual (thankfully) by also getting the Large Cornish Cheeseboard which included Cornish Cheddar, Brie, Gouda , Blue.

Every bit was devoured and so moorish that everyone returned for more until it was finished. So many compliments about how tasty and 'different' the selection was.

It was all delivered on time in great packaging. Would definitely recommend and buy again.
